Hosts are responsible for providing direct one-on-one customer service to all guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets guests, seats guests, provide menus and other service literature to guests
- Manages seating arrangements, evenly distributes sittings between service staff, constantly maintains an up-to-date floorplan of available tables
- Answers the telephone, takes and manages reservations, provides guests with information via telephone and in person
- General cleaning responsibilities, daily side work, other tasks as assigned by management
- Perform the functions of bussers and room service attendants as necessary

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Less than high school education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, menus, and customer requests. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simply one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly handle chemical cleaning solutions, which must be carefully handled. Floors may be slippery. Employee may have to carry soiled dishes from tables and handle sharp objects such as knives and scissors. Broken glass or broken dishes can occur.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
