    Job Description
    Responsible for prospecting for customers, informing them about products and services offered by the company, and selling products and services. Consistently promotes the company and its products in a positive manner.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Develops list of prospects from leads in publications, from old accounts records, from networking activities, and by other means.
    Expectation: Prospecting is conducted as an important part of sales efforts.

    Obtains pertinent information concerning prospect’s past and current needs and preferences, for use in sales presentation.
    Expectation: Research and competitive intelligence is conducted and utilized according to ethics and standards of the company.

    Calls on industry people to obtain information concerning prospects for current needs and preferences.
    Expectation: Consistently seeks referrals and ideas for new business.

    Visits prospects and customers to point out advantages of products and services
    Expectation: Presentations are professional, according to plan, and helpful to client.

    Calls on prospects and presents outlines of various products or services
    Expectation: Approach, presentation, and follow-up calls are professional, timely, and productive.

    Ensure that all brand service and product standards are followed.
    Expectation: Hotel is in compliance with all brand standards.

    Ensure you work closely with the sales and banquets staff to promote an exceptional customer experience.
    Expectation: Communication is ongoing and consistent and the customer ‘s expectations are exceeded.
    Insure the proper contact with client before, during and after the event.
    Expectation: Customers are consistently completely satisfied with their food and service.
    Customer service issues are resolved in a prompt, professional, thorough, and timely

    Advises customer in advantages of various choices among product line and service offerings. Always try to upsell.
    Expectation: Consulting and advice is professional, constructive, appropriate, and productive toward stated goals.

    Prepares sales plans, sales literature, menus and sales contracts, using computer.
    Expectation: Plan, contracts, and literature are professional and timely.

    Follows up and stays in touch with prospects and customers to ensure continuing business relationship.
    Expectation: Contacts and presentations are professional, according to plan, and helpful to client.

    Attends daily business review, weekly Staff and BEO meetings.
    Expectation: Communication is ongoing and effective

    Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
    Expectation: Morale and productivity are high.

    Promptly informs immediate supervisor of all pressing issues and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
    Expectation: Communications are timely, accurate, productive, and complete.

    Communicates clearly and directly with others including management, co-workers, customers, vendors, and prospects.
    Expectation: Communication is ongoing, clear, concise, and complete.

    Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers.
    Expectation: Methods and processes are effective and timely.

    Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business operations, sales and marketing, and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.


    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general hotel PMS and operational reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small groups situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, Sales Pro and presentation software.

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Maintains a valid Drivers License.
