Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

Mar 4, 2015 12:00 AM
The DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC), the Meals on Wheels provider for DuPage County, is currently seeking volunteers that wish to make a positive difference in their community. Volunteers are especially needed in the Lombard area.

“Persons who deliver meals to frail and homebound senior citizens help lend dignity and independence to the lives of elderly residents,” said Cathy Jordan, DSCC Volunteer Services Director. She said that in addition to drivers, volunteer opportunities also exist for kitchen assistants to help prepare meals and socialize with seniors taking part in the Community Dining Program. Ms. Jordan said that experience is not needed, but compassion and a positive attitude are required. Training is provided. A background check is required.

Interested persons should contact Cathy Jordan, Volunteer Services Director at
